MIMOS Bhd, in its continued bid to seek out new innovations to support and accelerate, had announced its new partnership with Ancom Nylex Bhd and HELM AG to help local farmers improve crop yields with better use of technology and digital solutions.
The partnership will see MIMOS deploying digital agriculture solutions through a solutions platform that HELM developed for precision farming.
Known as SKYFLD, it will enable farmers to map their fields, monitor crop health using satellite data, and improve fertiliser and treatments with targeted usage. Farmers can also monitor biomass performance and health to identify problem areas and address them directly.

Ancom Nylex will be the supplier of fertiliser and required chemicals for this programme.
“(Our collaboration) will help farmers improve their yield while reducing environmental impact that farming creates. This includes reducing waste and addressing agricultural run-off. With digital solutions, farmers can also better manage their resources and improve their sustainability,” said Siew Ka Wei, Executive Chairman, Ancom Nylex.
The partnership between the three will also see another digital solution from HELM being deployed. Operating as a mobile crop doctor, Plantix is a digital app that farmers can use to upload photos of sick plants for analysis.

MIMOS, HELM, and Ancom Nylex will be developing and rolling out a pilot phase to test, tweak, and develop quality assurance benchmarks for both crops and regions.
The results from this pilot will be reviewed in the first quarter of 2024.
