Just barely a month after the official arrival of Tesla into Malaysia, the electric vehicle player quickly established a logistics services partnership with Malaysian-based PKT Logistics Group.

Michael Tio, Managing Director and CEO, PKT Logistics Group, recently announced this partnership on his Facebook page. While there are no specific details on how both parties have come to an agreement, he did upload a couple of pictures that signify the signing between PKT and Tesla.

A long-time logistics player, PKT provides freight-forwarding, customs brokerage, contract logistics, haulage, and distribution services to automotive and electronics sectors in Malaysia and across the Asia Pacific region. Signing on to be the logistics services partner for Tesla is the logical next step.

Tesla officially opened its doors to Malaysia in early July 2023 with the launch of its Model Y. While there have been reports on Tesla Superchargers already confirmed to be deployed across the Peninsular, not much had been shared about maintenance and support for Tesla cars that are sold here.

Notably, beyond the official confirmation of a Tesla Experience and Services Centres to be established in Malaysia, alongside the opening of the Tesla Head Office in Malaysia, not much had been forthcoming after.

The partnership with PKT is the first official sign that there will be a network of service centres coming online in the near future. After all, the inventory management of parts now has a proper supply line that is being powered via the automotive logistics arrangement that PKT provides.
